Sweet ‘n Spicy Homemade Iced Tea Recipe for Canada Day & 4th of July
Happy Canada Day and Independence Day! For all those celebrating the birth of our nations in one of the hottest months of the year, here’s a delicious and super nutritious homemade iced tea recipe so you can still cheers with the drinkers.
It’s wonderfully hot outside these days in the Americas. And when you factor in a national birthday, like Canada and the States this week, the temptation to sip on calorie-laden alcoholic patio drinks is almost unbearable… unless you have a healthy alternative!
I was recently sent a sample package of Moringa oleifera tea. What is that, did you ask?
About Moringa Oleifera
Well, if you didn’t catch it, this plant was featured on “The Dr. Oz Show” as a way to jump-start your day and re-energize your life. Dr. Oz recommends it because it is the most nutrient-dense plant so far discovered.
Rather than a tea, Moringa is actually a tisane (herbal tea) which contains no caffeine and can be enjoyed by the whole family. It’s got 47 antioxidants, 36 anti-inflammatories, 27 vitamins and minerals, all 8 essential amino acids and made up of 27% plant-based protein! (Click here for a complete list of nutrients.)
Moringa oleifera supports:
- increased energy and flexibility
- focus and clarity
- digestive regulation
- immune system health
- cell strength and restoration
- stabilization of blood sugar levels
- memory and sensory perception
- restful, restorative sleep cycles
- emotional balance
- reparation of skin elasticity to reverse the signs of aging
- recovery from physical strain and ailments
The company, Moringa Source, suggests drinking one cup daily, along with the daily supplement regimen, after consulting with your healthcare practitioner, of course. I did so myself and unfortunately, because I’m a smoker (right now), the extra vitamin A that Moringa offers would increase my chances of cancer.
Considering this risk, I’ll wait until I stop smoking to take Moringa as directed when I can then try out the product fully. When I do so, please expect another review as I’m eager to see if I can feel the health benefits the company claims Moringa provides.
And now for the homemade iced tea recipe!
Sweet ‘n Spicy Homemade Iced Moringa Tea
Ok, there’s something to be said about the traditional lemon-flavoured iced tea. But if you want to spice it up a bit, try this recipe on your taste buds! Cinnamon is said to improve energy, vitality, digestion and circulation. And, of course, Moringa tea is loaded with youth-promoting, healing nutrients.

I highly recommend trying Moringa tea, it`s a subtle but delicious flavour like no other I`ve ever tried before. The cinnamon is just an added bonus! For the entire month of July, Moringa Source is offering a 4th of July special: buy one ($13.95 for 24 bags) and get one free.
