Pineapple Berry Spring Smoothie

Welcome spring! Although it’s a bit overcast this weekend here in Toronto, we celebrated the spring arrival all week with gorgeous sun and balmy weather. Now it’s time to officially cheers the season of birth-rebirth with a smoothie!

The brilliant purple from the mixed berries in this smoothie recipe will chase away any rainy day blues you might have while spring nourishes the earth. The pineapple adds a touch of tropical summer to whet our appetites and the almond butter completes the meal with a healthy dose of protein.

Pineapple Berry Spring Smoothie

Makes: 20 oz. glass

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mixed frozen berries
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp raw almond butter
  • 3/4 cup vanilla rice milk (or to desired consistency)
  • 1 tbsp ground flax seed

Preparation

Blend until smooth and enjoy!
