Sambucol cough syrup, I’ll have to check it out.

And an astragalus supplement… very interesting. I had to look it up (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astragalus).

It appears to be used for anti-aging… what other uses does it have that would be good for kids?

I have used Sambucol cough syrup for years for myself and my kids. It is soothing to the throat and pretty tasty. I look forward to trying this one too! I’m currently looking for a good astragalus supplement for kids…any suggestions? i used the Herbs for Kids formula years back…

Sinupret claims to support sinus, respiratory and immune functioning. They do not come right out and say it, but a strong immune system definitely shortens the length of a cold.

Is this supposed to just help with the symptoms, or shorten the length of the cold?

I’m glad you decided to comment. It can’t hurt to have a herbal remedy in the fridge in case symptoms get really bad for the kiddies (before the expiry date, of course!).

A natural remedy, that would be fantastic. Anything natural works well in our house.

We tend to try and avoid cough/cold rememdies for the kiddies… but what the heck? If anything it would be funny to get the hubs to sample it – just incase he poops
