There are many foods out there being sold as health food or diet food that are really anything but. Even some of the vegetables you’re eating and serving your family can do serious damage to your health. It’s poison but it’s a slower form of poison, which is why so many people, when they finally succumb to its effects, don’t make the connection.
Autoimmune disease, diabetes, chronic pain conditions and even cancer can all be traced back to one common source: Poisoned food.

This American dinner staple is responsible for half a dozen illnesses and disease. This is because 1 in every 133 people is intolerant to the protein found in wheat, barley and rye. This protein is called gluten. Symptoms of gluten intolerance include chronic abdominal cramping, diarrhea, flatulence, muscle aches, brain fog, learning disabilities and mood swings.
Even in those who are not intolerant to gluten, pasta is still essentially a poison food. This is because it is made from refined flour and has virtually no nutritional value. This flour causes blood sugar spikes, chronic immune inflammatory response, and a condition called leaky gut syndrome due to the lectins pasta contains.
If you want to indulge in a healthier pasta dish, switch to gluten free brown rice pasta instead.
Corn is a form of slow poison food as well. One of the biggest problems with corn is much of it is genetically modified. This means this common grain is loaded with a dangerous substance called BT toxin.
BT toxin is a gram-positive soil-swelling bacterium that has been used as an insecticide for nearly 100 years. It used to be sprayed on your food but with the invention of genetic modification, it is now being spliced into your food at a cellular level. This means you can’t wash it off.
Another problem with corn is its high omega 6 content. Omega 6 foods have been shown to worsen chronic inflammatory conditions like Crohn’s disease, chronic fatigue and arthritis.
A decade ago, millions of health-conscious vegetarians traded their favorite meat products for soy-based alternatives and the incidents of autoimmune disease grew by leaps and bounds. Why? Soy is anything but a health food. Like corn, almost all soy is genetically modified, meaning it contains the same dangerous BT toxins as GMO corn.
Soy, even organic soy, contains dangerous ingredients that make it act like a slow poison in your body. Soy is a phytoestrogen that disrupts endocrine function and may increase breast cancer risk. Men who consume large quantities of soy experience breast growth, erectile dysfunction and loss of libido.
Soy has also been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease due to its high content of goitrogens that block thyroid synthesis. The only safe soy to consume is organic fermented soy. That can actually be quite beneficial to your health.
You may have heard that the best thing you can do for your health is avoid saturated fats like butter and eat margarine instead. Nothing could be further from the truth. Margarine is a food loaded with trans fats that increase your risk of cardiac and other health problems.
According to a study published by the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, consumption of trans fats “adversely affects multiple cardiovascular risk factors.” This means eating margarine and other foods containing trans fats is a form of slow poison that eventually will bring on cardiovascular disease and death.
Soda, especially diet soda, is another way to slowly poison yourself with a food product. One of the worst ingredients in soda is high fructose corn syrup. HFCS has been clinically-proven to cause obesity and contribute to the development of diabetes. Aspartame, a synthetic sweetener found in diet soda, is even worse. It is a potent neurotoxin that has an incredible 92 different neurological and physical symptoms associated with it.

Millions of people get on and off the diet roller-coaster everyday. You’re not alone if you’re still struggling to lose weight. However, diet foods will not help you in this area and will actually make your weight problems much worse.
Virtually any pre-packaged diet food you pick will be loaded with food dyes, additives, preservatives and sweeteners that offer you no nutritional value and leave you starved for real food.
7. Frozen Dinners
Frozen dinners already have a strike against them due to their high sodium and trans fat content but it gets even worse when you heat these things in the microwave. Microwave ovens heat your food from the inside out too rapidly, creating dangerous radiolytic compounds. This method of cooking saps the nutritional content from your food, leaving you feeling tired, lethargic and malnourished.
8. Canned Food
Canned food is about as healthy for you as frozen food. For example, canned meats aren’t exactly what you think. The picture may look good on the can but it’s actually a conglomeration of meat bits that have been blasted from carcasses after slaughter.
That’s pretty gross but the slow poison part of canned food comes from an ingredient often associated with plastic; Bisphenol A (BPA). BPA is an industrial chemical that has been linked to the development of heart disease, intestinal damage, infertility, erectile dysfunction and behavioral problems in children.
9. Farmed Fish
It may surprise you to know there is a huge difference between farmed fish and wild-caught. Farmed fish are pumped full of antibiotics, growth hormones and pesticides that make what should be a nutrient-rich food a poison food. Farm-raised fish also contain a dangerous chemical called dioxin; a bleaching agent that impairs the endocrine, nervous, immune and digestive systems.
10. Conventionally-Raised Meat
Eating meat is not what it used to be. Conventional farming techniques have turned a healthy side of beef or steak into a chemical-laden experiment on your plate. The antibiotics, growth hormones and pesticides in conventional beef products have been linked to a host of developmental and autoimmune problems.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the unsanitary conditions virtually guarantee you’ll be eating some feathers, feet and feces with every bite. Yuck!
