<description>As a holistic health counselor, I recommend to address this naturally. My suggestions are as follows:

First – I think it is very important to work with someone, like myself, to assist you in addressing your diet. There are some foods that we need to emphasize, and some that need to be avoided. My personal email address is neda@naturalneda.com if you would to contact me directly about my services and how I can help.

Second—after we have made adjustments to your diet, I would look to supplement your diet with essential vitamins, minerals and enzymes. A company I work very closely with is Isogonics. It is a company that produces a line of products made from the highest quality organic raw ingredients designed to enhance absorption.

One product that I highly recommend for this is a drink powder called “Want More Energy.” This is a drink powder that can complement your diet and add the electrolytes and nutrients that replenish essentials lost during stress and exercise. The B vitamins and ionic trace minerals safely charge your body with natural, caffeine-free energy to support peak mental and physical performance. It also has Biotin which supports the thyroid. The B vitamins and ionic trace minerals are a first step in feeding your thyroid and getting it to function properly. I also recommend the “Ionix Supreme” which is filled with adaptogens that help neutralize the effects of stress and power performance. The antioxidants in Ionix Supreme fight damaging free radicals and help preserve health. This will also provide you with Vitamin B, which many women with hypothyroidism are deficient. I also recommend the multi-vitamin, Essentials for Women, and the Multi-Enzyme Complex; these help your body absorb the nutrients as well as support natural digestion and elimination, and the Omega Supreme; which are the essential fatty acids, also known as fish oils. All of these supplements can all help restore normal thyroid function. To learn more about these products or for ordering information please visit my website at: WWW.Naturalneda.Isagenix.com.

Also the use of cellular phones or earphones using blue tooth are highly discouraged. If necessary to use a cell phone, please use a headset and keep the phone far away as possible from the body and throat, due to the electromagnetic field (EMF) that it emits.

I hope you found this helpful and I hope to hear from you,

Neda

		<description>Dee,

I feel your pain and understand the challenges you are facing. It can be very frustrating having to take the time and effort to change your style of eating and have found no solution.

I’m sure you are familiar with the causes of hypothyroidism; for those who have never heard of it, hypothyroidism is a low functioning thyroid, which can be caused by food allergies, excess stress, environmental toxins, insufficient exercise, B vitamin deficiencies, lack of iron, lack of digestive enzymes, liver disease, hormone imbalances, and/or parasites. Antihistamines or synthetic estrogen can exacerbate the situation. Have you ever been tested for Hashimoto&#039;s disease? Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune disease in which the body becomes allergic to its own thyroid gland and forms antibodies to attack it.

I think it is also important to review the symptoms of hypothyroidism, which include fatigue, weight gain, slowed heart rate, constipation, irritability, sensitivities to cold, mental depression, slowness or slurring of speech, drooping and swollen eyes, swollen face, recurrent infections, increased allergic reactions, headaches, hair loss, brittleness of hair, female problems (such as heavy menstrual flow, painful periods, and premenstrual tension), decreased immune functioning, and calcium metabolism problems. So do not worry that you have gained weight and that you might show a reduced energy level, especially during workouts. Once you get your thyroid functioning properly, you should see an increase in energy level and weight loss.

<description>Bravo Neda for an honest and well written article that I have found to be true in my past weight loss efforts.

Going thru menopause, I have discovered that hypothyroidism has contributed to my substantial weight gain over the past 2 years. Despite making healthier food choices and a more balanced lifestyle ~ including exercise and meditation, I cannot seem to lose this extra weight!

If you have any natural tips on certain foods, supplements or exercise that might kick start my slow metabolism, I would love to know. I make a point of eating a small protein breakfast each morning and grazing on several small meals (incl nuts, fruits &amp; veggies) as hunger dictates thru the day. Then I stop eating at least 3 hrs before sleep ~ to no avail. It has been extremely frustrating despite my strong motivation and discipline.

Thankfully I&#039;m not gaining any more weight (or fat) but do you think it might be necessary to take synthroid or some other thyroid replacement in order to see some results? I also have low energy slowing my workout, which doesn&#039;t seem to burn off my daily calorie intake (1200-1500)

I recently saw an expert on Oprah who said that staying hungry will improve one&#039;s health and longevity, while slowing the aging process. I think food combining and eating mostly raw foods were the other factors. Everyone in the experiment lost substantial amounts of weight over 21 days and felt much better. Maybe this is the answer for women like me?</description>
